We are excited to inform you about an upcoming upgrade to your electric meter that will enhance the way we serve you. Vineland Municipal Utilities is transitioning to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters, starting Q2 of 2025.

Our meter technicians will begin installing the new AMI electric meters beginning Quarter 2 of 2025, which will take approximately 6 years to fully transition.

In most cases, you shouldn’t have any loss in service. In some instances, you we may require a small outage to upgrade your meter. We will make every effort to attempt to contact you before we perform the upgrade if this is the case. While your meter is being replaced, we will strive to minimize any interruptions to your service.

Your bill is based on the energy you have used, not the type of meter being read. While the upgraded meters may be accurate in reading your consumption, you shouldn’t see a considerable change in your bill assuming your usage doesn’t change.
